PETA wins again
Humans are animals, right? Hopefully I’m not the only one who finds it ironic that they are hosting a sexiest vegetarian alive contest. More or less they are exploiting humans in a number of ways to get publicity for their website. They have ads spammed all over the web regardless of website content, in the hopes that people will click to check out the hot vegetarians… and in passing perhaps read some delicious propaganda.
Normally I’m not one to dabble in politics, but this was silly enough to catch my attention. Reminds me of those naked celeb “I’d rather wear nothing than fur” ads they had a while back. Same deal. Apparently they’re above exploiting any animals except humans. I find it ironic since they go so above and beyond when it comes to riding their high horse.
Eh? PETA’s weird, but I don’t think it makes any sense to equate killing animals with paying people to show off their bodies. It’d be much more fair to compare this sexy vegetabletarian contest with PETA’s less widely advertised “sexiest farm animal” contest.
PETA is so mental
…I have no idea if you’re kidding.
Re: PETA is so mental
LOL
That was pretty much the intent.
I’m very critical of PETA’s tactics because of the completely batshit crazy stuff they do and have done in the past. They get so massively righteous at any sort of animal “exploitation”. And they generally tout animals around as at least equal to humans in terms of what rights they should have. If PETA had its way, animals would get to vote. I’m only half kidding. Animal welfare activists are a-ok in my book, but animal rights groups like PETA are on my short list of groups that could stand to be disbanded.
Ehh… If they’re a pet peeve, that’s fine. I’ve got a few weird ones myself*.
