I made a new image for the front end of iggdawg.com. I just wanted something (anything) to replace the boring text file that I had there. Its prime function seemed to be deterring random travellers from actually entering the site. So I surfed till I found something to make fun of the internet with. Since the internet IS a series of tubes, and I fix the internet for a living, I figure this image shows what it must be like to do my job:

Right now it’s just a link that leads to that new blog I mentioned till I get some form of interesting content.

For a long while I’ve listened to the industrial stream over at Rant Radio to get my industrial/synth fix. Recently the stuff they’ve been playing has been too caustic though, they’re moving to more crunchy noisy material that really doesn’t appeal to me. I was going over to Digitally Imported, my other “stock” electronica outlet, to hook my bad self up with some psytrance or something. It turns out Digitally Imported just started a future/synthpop stream so I thoght I’d check it out. It’s actually pretty good. It’s a lot like Rant Radio used to be a few years ago. Lots of stuff they don’t play on RR anymore since they’ve replaced half their playlist with noise. If any of you out there are into industrial/synth, check out the stream here
EDIT – Plugging IPM radio as mentioned in the comments. Again if you’re into the genre deff check these guys out. Their playlists are much less repetitive than either of the above sources. I find more new material from IPM than any other source. I thought they were just a weekend show, but I’ve been schooled.

I was bebopping through the internets today and ran across this article:
Johnson & Johnson sues American Red Cross over use of emblem
This seems reasonable to me. It’s about time big pharma found another non-profit organization they could really sink their teeth into. And who better than those shifty bastards at the Red Cross? Why just the other day I saw bullies from the Red Cross clubbing puppies at the local shelter. They were sporting their telltale gang colors, all black with a big red cross on the back. I can see why Johnson and Johnson would not want to be associated with this manner of knavery.

Reposting this since it the crossposting utility I use doesn’t seem to be triggering things to post on my friends page. And since this is announcing my new source blog I thought it worth reposting =P. I’ll try to work out why it’s not populating your friends page with my trash for future posts. For now, tell me if this IS a repost for you, since that would mean everything is working =P. So yeah. New link, then copypasta of old post
http://www.iggdawg.com/blog/index.php (yes, I know it’s still boring atm)
So I’m going to start doing the blog thing on my own server. Ain’t that some shit? It’s very conveniently located here at IggBlog. I’ll still be reading other peopels’ pages, and reading/responding to comments, here at LJ. I’m vain enough to want to read what people have to say to me, but not so vain to think that they’re actually going to register on my site. That’s my story.

As far as I’m concerned, the internet can take modern memes and beat them with the ugly-stick of my childhood all it wants. Images behind the cut were stolen from Anonymous.
By your powers combined
Is monday like VeteranLaborWashingtonKingJr day or something? Everyone’s taking friday (today) off. I lose track of holiday mondays since I haven’t been with a company that observes them in years.
So we got a new operator on staff today. You know what kind of workplace you’re in when not only do you pass around random zoo porn from the internet on your first day (you know, because it fit in the conversation at the time)… but half the staff says “Oh yeah lol, I seen that”.
So I finally got the confirmation email for my security training. Below is the course:
Agenda
———–
* theory on hacking
* port scanning
* packet sniffing
* Hax0r a box…l33t
Sounds like it’s being run by the right sort of guy.
So I took a strange call just now. There’s this tape drive that failed out in Geneva or some shit for a company, we’ll call them Covaance to protect their identiy. This chick from some parts place that was going to supply the drive wanted to know if “a black drive is ok”. I don’t know how many server rooms they’ve been in before, but color is seldom on the short list, long list, extended list, or even Christmas list for just about any item. Save cables. And tape drives are usually exiled to some corner of the server room, surrounded by other machines. I told them I didn’t think black would be an issue, but I would check anyways.
After I got off the call I asked the SRO (Service Request Dude.. O is for Dude), and he said they requested fushcia. Failing that, puce. Looks like we have an issue.
