Cthulhu is my boss. And I don’t mean this in the “Jesus is my copilot” kinda way….
I made a Lovecraft reference earlier today here in LJ, so I had Lovecraft in my head. My boss was just talking to me about this trip she’ll be taking to canada. She’s all whining about this and moaning about that. So all the sudden I start picturing her as Cthulhu… waving her blubbery arms in the air, tentacles waving and slobering, her barrel-like chest rippling as she bellows. this is the imaginary part, I mean. I cracked up and started laughing madly. Apparently she had just said something humorous at the same time, cause she was laughing too. Then I couldn’t get the image out of my head. I almost broke out laughing a few more times. Try picturing anyone as a writhing Cthulhu when they’re trying to be serious…

Back to work. First day back since Dec 23rd. Feels like winter vacation used to when I was in college. Well damn, I’m not that old… that was only like 2 years ago. yeah… I tink that’s right… ellipsis… Anyways, Bob is here for today and tomorrow, then she’s off on business for the rest of the week. you know what that means…. no pants! Well, that and more slacking.
Going out to play pool tonight. Usually we go to this one cheap place, but Seth is tired of the pool tables there. the Lovecraftian geometry gets tiresome after a while I’ll admit. For only $2 more an hour we can play on Euclidean tables at a place down the street. The cheap place also has Lovecraftian waitresses. strange, twisted beings with curves that defy physics in terrible ways and insult the eyes.
That’s all I got for now. off to the grindstone.

I am a net whore. at least I have been all weekend. seriouisly… I’ve been totally glued to my computer since around 7-ish yesterday. I got literally zero sleep. and here I am now. I’ve been tossing the net’s salad for over 24 hours now. in all honesty, I took PS2 breaks here and there. but I can say for a fact I’ve done nothing at all productive at all. well, video games count as productivity. I;ve already resigned myself to going out and playing pool on monday or tuesday, and poker on wednesday. so I’m making up for it.
but seriously…. I need to step away from the machine.

Wow. Dec 31. The earth has taken another lap. hmm… no plans for new years eve yet. I’m watching a WRC marathon at Sean’s house on new years day. but I have yet to find a source of inebriation for tonight. but that’s all part of the fun right? t3e mystery! t3h EXC1TEMENT! I always find a venue of one sort or another.
I’d love to make a list of resolutions or something… but WTH? it’s just an arbitrary day. no different than a Smarch 12th resolution. I’ll hold fast to my resolution with all the flacidity my soul can muster. note to self: I really need to find a better method to kick my ass into doing stuff I don’t feel like doing. maybe that’ll be my new years resolution.
In other news: Super Troopers is still a funny movie.

I don’t have to work till Jan 5th. that kicks ass. I’m sitting in my boxers playing command and conquer. and I will be until January 5th. unless santa gets me something more entertaining.

Yeah. Happy holidays, you lot of worthless kn0bz. It’s been an interesting year for sure. I got married. ain’t that some shit? I’m pretty pleased with myself for being able to keep a girl around for that long. What can I say… I was a Boy Scout. They teach you how to lash things down really well. I’d I’ve lived in my own house for about a year now. it’s cool to be out of apartments. on the less cool side of things, I got laid off back in april. Had to sell 2 cars I really loved. got another car I’m strangely infatuated with. Got another job, first one in my field since college. I don’t miss the IT realm, but I do miss the slacking and the paycheck.
It’s cool to rant about this and that and see that people even bother to read it, much less reply. When I post anything in “The OT” I fully expect a bunch of replies, but it’s always cool to see people bothering to read stuff on my more personal space. I have to thank LordBrand for getting me back into this LJ crap this year. I fell off the train for a while when I was unemployed and on dial-up. I’m glad I got back into it. apparently people still had me listed on their friends page. haha! suckers! and I also recently stumbled into the EBM LJ underworld, as I commented in another journal. That has certainly been interesting. I’ve met a lot of really cool people and some charecters. even some fake people (AFRAID!!!!).
Anyways… happy holidays. be sure to take some time to genuinely slack off. I hope santa is nice to you all. And wether this past year was great or a giant bowl of suck, I hope next year is even better for you all. w0rd.
